BHADOHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday accused the Samajwadi Party and the Congress of attempting to replicate the “Trinamool politics” in Uttar Pradesh, describing it as a politics of appeasement and persecution of Dalits and women. Speaking at an election rally in Bhadohi, where the opposition has fielded a Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate, Modi criticized the INDIA bloc partners for embracing the tactics of West Bengal’s ruling party.
“Given their dwindling political prospects, the SP and Congress are conducting an experiment with Trinamool politics in Bhadohi,”
he remarked.
Modi further elaborated, “Trinamool politics entails the murder of Hindus, oppression of Dalits and tribals, and atrocities against women. Numerous BJP leaders have fallen victim to violence, and TMC MLAs openly threaten to drown Hindus in the Ganges.” Highlighting the contentious nature of Trinamool politics in West Bengal, the prime minister underscored its elements, including “toxic appeasement,” labeling the Ram temple as “impure,” prohibition of Ramnavami celebrations, harboring Bangladeshi infiltrators, and engaging in
“vote jihad” — a term alluded to by an SP candidate.
Directing his criticism towards the Samajwadi Party, Modi alleged that the previous state government had accorded special treatment to terrorists and displayed leniency towards SIMI.
