NEW DELHI: Over 200 residents of Supertech Eco Village 2 in Noida fell sick on Monday, allegedly after consuming contaminated water. Most of the affected individuals, primarily children, experienced symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain, sparking widespread concern in the society.
One resident shared, “My son returned from his coaching institute feeling unwell and vomited twice. Shortly after, my younger son, aged 8, also started complaining of illness.” He added, “I returned from work around 9 PM and felt nauseous by 11 PM. We believe the issue stems from contaminated water.”
Another resident explained that children began showing symptoms of vomiting and dysentery on Sunday night, initially attributing it to something they had eaten. “However, as we started speaking with other families in the society, the number of sick individuals kept rising,” he said.
The incident appears to have occurred after the society’s water tank was cleaned two days earlier. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the matter to determine the cause of the contamination.
Residents are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the probe, urging swift action to prevent further health risks.
