External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has revealed that India is actively engaging with both Russia and Ukraine in efforts to facilitate a resolution to the ongoing conflict between the two nations. Speaking on India’s diplomatic approach, the EAM emphasized the country’s commitment to fostering dialogue and peace in the region.

Jaishankar highlighted that India has maintained balanced relations with both Russia and Ukraine throughout the war, leveraging its diplomatic channels to push for a ceasefire and promote constructive negotiations. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also called for an end to the violence during discussions with global leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

India’s engagement in the matter underscores its role as a mediator on the global stage, using its influence to encourage peaceful solutions while advocating for the interests of all parties involved.

Jaishankar added that India’s position has always been rooted in respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the peaceful resolution of disputes, as these principles guide the nation’s foreign policy approach amid international conflicts.
