‘Urge PM Modi Once Again to Visit Manipur’: Rahul Gandhi Amid Fresh Wave of Violence

Amid a resurgence of violence in Manipur, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reiterated his call for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the strife-torn state. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Gandhi expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation, urging the Prime Minister to prioritize peace and reconciliation.

In his post, Gandhi stated, “The violence in Manipur continues unabated, tearing apart the lives of innocent people. I urge PM Modi once again to visit Manipur and work towards restoring peace. The suffering of our brothers and sisters cannot be ignored any longer.”

The plea comes as Manipur grapples with renewed ethnic clashes, adding to the unrest that has plagued the state for months. Reports suggest escalating tensions between communities, further complicating efforts to restore normalcy.

During a parliamentary debate earlier this year, Gandhi criticized the government’s handling of the crisis, accusing the BJP-led administration of indifference towards the plight of Manipur’s residents. He has since made repeated appeals for stronger intervention and a visit by the Prime Minister to assess the ground realities firsthand.

The Congress leader’s renewed call highlights the urgency for political and humanitarian measures to address the ongoing turmoil in Manipur.
