The cleanliness of train blankets has long been a topic of interest among passengers. Addressing this concern, the Railway Minister recently provided clarity on how often these blankets are washed.
According to the minister, blankets supplied to passengers on trains are typically washed every 15 to 30 days, depending on usage and operational logistics. To maintain hygiene, clean bed sheets, pillow covers, and towels are provided for each journey, ensuring passengers have fresh linens for their comfort.
The Railways is also exploring ways to enhance passenger experience, including upgrading laundry services, using disposable or sanitized blankets, and introducing modern cleaning technologies to improve overall hygiene standards.
The statement reflects ongoing efforts to address passenger concerns and ensure a cleaner, more comfortable travel experience.
