Railways Clarifies Blanket Hygiene: Washed Twice a Month Following Public Outcry

Amid public concerns over the cleanliness of train blankets, Indian Railways has clarified that blankets provided to passengers are washed twice a month. This response comes after widespread criticism regarding hygiene standards in train services.

Railway officials emphasized that the practice of washing blankets every 15 days is in line with operational protocols and resource management. They also assured passengers that fresh bed sheets, pillow covers, and towels are provided for every journey to maintain hygiene.

In light of the feedback, the Railways is exploring ways to further improve sanitation, including upgrading laundry facilities and introducing new measures for passenger comfort. The clarification highlights the Railways’ commitment to addressing passenger concerns and ensuring a cleaner travel experience.
