NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the Congress on Monday, accusing its leaders of remaining silent against the BJP. Kejriwal’s remarks come in the wake of recent assembly election results in Haryana, where AAP failed to make significant inroads.
“Why do Congress leaders never speak against the BJP? This silence raises questions,” Kejriwal said during a public event in Delhi. He further suggested that Congress’s lack of aggression toward the ruling party was detrimental to the opposition’s efforts to challenge BJP dominance.
Taking a dig at the Haryana poll outcome, Kejriwal added, “Despite the desire for change among people, fragmented opposition allows BJP to maintain its grip.” He emphasized the need for a united opposition to present a formidable challenge in upcoming elections.
Kejriwal also reiterated AAP’s commitment to strengthening its base in Haryana and other states. “We will continue working for the people, with a focus on education, health, and transparent governance,” he said.
As political discourse heats up ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal’s remarks highlight growing tensions within the opposition bloc, signaling potential challenges for unity against the BJP.
