AAP Calls GST on Research Grants ‘Tax Terrorism’, Demands Immediate Withdrawal

GST

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly condemned the imposition of GST on research grants, labeling it as “tax terrorism” and urging the government to withdraw the levy immediately. According to AAP leaders, the move threatens to stifle innovation and scientific research across the country.

In a statement, AAP argued that taxing research grants would burden institutions, researchers, and universities, potentially hampering India’s progress in fields like science, technology, and healthcare. They stressed that research is the backbone of a nation’s development and should be encouraged, not penalized.

Calling the GST imposition on grants “unfair and counterproductive,” AAP demanded that the central government reverse the decision to protect the future of research and innovation in India.
