AMETHI: Police arrested eight individuals on Wednesday night for allegedly attempting to organize an unauthorized procession and raising slogans in support of Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut. The arrests occurred in the Jais police station area, according to Inspector Rajol Singh.
Singh stated that a group had gathered near the Naugji intersection, raising slogans in support of Nasrallah and preparing for a procession without official permission. A similar unauthorized procession had previously been held in the area.
Police personnel arrived at the scene and tried to dissuade the group from holding the procession, but their efforts were unsuccessful. To maintain public peace and order, police arrested Ansar, Zeeshan, Syed Ahmed, Syed Azizul Hasnain, Naseem Haider, Tehzeeb, Badshah Anwar, and Taufiq Hussain. The protest’s organizer had been arrested earlier on October 1.
Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese capital on Saturday, sparking protests and tensions in the region.
