Arvind Kejriwal Pledges ₹10 Lakh Insurance for Auto Drivers in Delhi Poll Promise

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a ₹10 lakh insurance scheme for auto drivers as part of his election promises, aiming to support the city’s auto-rickshaw community. This initiative seeks to provide financial security to auto drivers and their families in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Addressing a gathering of auto drivers, Kejriwal said, “You work tirelessly to keep Delhi moving. This insurance scheme is our way of acknowledging your contribution and ensuring your families are protected.”

The proposed scheme will cover accidental death and disability, offering a significant safety net for thousands of auto drivers in the capital. Kejriwal also highlighted his government’s track record of pro-auto driver policies, including waiving permit fees and simplifying licensing processes.

The announcement is being seen as a strategic move to consolidate the Aam Aadmi Party’s support among auto drivers, a key voting demographic in Delhi. Political observers note that this pledge could resonate with other working-class groups as well, enhancing AAP’s appeal ahead of the elections.
