BCCI Policy Restricts Indian Cricketers’ Families from Traveling to UAE for 2025 Champions Trophy

Families

The families of Indian cricket team members will not be allowed to accompany them to the UAE for the 2025 Champions Trophy, as per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s latest policy. This marks the first major implementation of the new guidelines.

The BCCI introduced its updated regulations, titled Policy Document for Team India, in January following India’s disappointing 3-1 loss to Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

With the Champions Trophy scheduled from February 19 to March 9, the tournament falls under the 45-day limit set by the BCCI. According to the policy, players’ families can only join them on overseas tours exceeding 45 days, and even then, only for a two-week period. Had the tournament been longer, families would have been permitted a brief stay.

India’s group-stage matches will take place in Dubai against Bangladesh (February 20), Pakistan (February 23), and New Zealand (March 2), while other fixtures will also be hosted in Pakistan.
