CCTVs, Masks & Gloves: UP Govt Issues Strict Norms for Eateries Amid Rising Cases of Food Contamination

Food Contamination Cases

In response to increasing cases of food contamination, the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced stringent guidelines for restaurants and eateries across the state. These measures aim to ensure higher hygiene standards and improve food safety for consumers.

As part of the new regulations, eateries are required to install CCTV cameras in food preparation and serving areas, allowing for constant monitoring of hygiene practices. Staff must wear masks and gloves while handling food to minimize the risk of contamination, ensuring safer meals for patrons.

The government has also mandated regular health check-ups for kitchen staff, frequent sanitization of cooking areas, and proper storage of raw materials. Any establishment found violating these rules may face fines, suspension of licenses, or even closure.

The move comes amid growing concerns over public health as multiple incidents of foodborne illnesses have been reported across the state. By enforcing these strict norms, the UP government hopes to curb food contamination and foster a culture of cleanliness and safety in the hospitality sector.
