Following its defeat in the Haryana Assembly elections, the Congress has decided to temporarily halt its criticism of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Party sources indicate that the leadership will refrain from raising concerns about the reliability of EVMs until they gather what they consider “enough evidence” to support their claims.

The decision came after a comprehensive review of the party’s electoral performance in the state. Despite several exit polls predicting a closer contest, the BJP secured a clear victory, leading some Congress members to question the role of EVMs. However, senior party leaders advised caution, choosing to focus on building a more robust case before publicly challenging the election process.

During the review meeting, Congress also identified key areas for improvement in its strategy and voter outreach, pledging to rebuild and strengthen its grassroots connections ahead of future elections. The party will continue to analyze its shortcomings in Haryana while preparing for upcoming state and national polls.
