NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized Congress on Saturday, claiming that the opposition party is losing support due to the increasing unity among Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Dalits, and Adivasis. Speaking at an election rally in Nanded, PM Modi accused Congress of disregarding the Constitution and condemned their stance on Article 370.
Holding up a symbolic “red book” labeled as the Constitution of India with “blank pages inside,” PM Modi said this represented Congress’s neglect of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s values. “The entire country is shocked by this political maneuver from Congress,” he remarked, adding that the party’s call to restore Article 370 in Kashmir reflects a “misguided loyalty” to the repealed law.
PM Modi highlighted BJP’s and the Mahayuti alliance’s commitment to Maharashtra’s future, citing the popular slogan, “BJP-Mahayuti ahe, tar gati ahe. Maharashtraachi pragati ahe” (Only BJP-Mahayuti ensures Maharashtra’s swift progress). He emphasized India’s shared goal of becoming a “developed nation,” positioning BJP and its allies as the most serious contenders to lead this vision.
Reflecting on the BJP’s recent win in the Haryana assembly elections, PM Modi expressed confidence in a similar victory for Maharashtra. He also praised the Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana, a program supporting women across the state, and reiterated his commitment to enhancing Nari Shakti (women’s power).
The rally concluded with PM Modi’s focus on progress and empowerment, amplifying BJP’s momentum in the campaign for Maharashtra.
