Delhi HC Reserves Order on CM Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail Plea in CBI Excise Policy Case

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has reserved its order on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea in connection with the CBI investigation into the Excise policy case. Kejriwal, facing charges related to alleged irregularities in the implementation of the excise policy, has sought bail, arguing that the accusations are politically motivated and lack substantial evidence.

During the hearing, Kejriwal’s legal team contended that the CBI’s case is based on uncorroborated claims and that his continued detention is unnecessary. They emphasized his cooperative behavior throughout the investigation and his commitment to addressing the allegations transparently.

The CBI, however, argued that Kejriwal’s release could potentially hamper the ongoing investigation, citing concerns over witness tampering and evidence manipulation. They asserted that the charges against him are serious and warrant his custody to ensure a thorough and unobstructed probe.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the Delhi High Court has reserved its decision, which is expected to be announced in the coming days. The outcome of this case is being closely watched, given its significant political and legal implications.
