Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent address, praised the achievements of the ‘Make in India’ initiative as it marked its 10th anniversary. He highlighted the wide-reaching impact of the program, stating that the “imprints of Make in India are visible everywhere,” from infrastructure to technology, contributing significantly to the nation’s growth.

Launched in 2014, ‘Make in India’ was designed to transform the country into a global manufacturing hub, boosting domestic production and reducing reliance on imports. The initiative aimed to create jobs, foster innovation, enhance skill development, and attract foreign investment across various sectors such as defense, electronics, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “In the last decade, ‘Make in India’ has not only strengthened the economy but also placed India on the global map as a trusted manufacturing and innovation partner.” He emphasized the critical role of the program in empowering industries and contributing to the country’s self-reliance, especially during times of global disruptions.

Modi also pointed out how the initiative has driven the country’s technological advancement and modernization, particularly in sectors like space exploration, defense, and electronics. “From metro coaches to fighter jets, and smartphones to solar panels, the spirit of ‘Make in India’ has shaped every aspect of development,” the Prime Minister remarked.

The initiative’s success is reflected in India’s growing stature as a global manufacturing hub, with increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) and the emergence of world-class infrastructure projects, including industrial corridors and smart cities. The Prime Minister concluded his speech by affirming his government’s commitment to further accelerating ‘Make in India’ efforts, ensuring that the next decade will see even greater progress and global integration of Indian industries.
