India Eyes Gains from Trump’s ‘Drill, Baby Drill’ Energy Plan

Drill, Baby Drill

India is positioning itself to benefit from former U.S. President Donald Trump’s pro-oil policies, should he return to office. With Trump advocating a “Drill, Baby Drill” approach—favoring aggressive fossil fuel production—India sees an opportunity to secure cheaper crude imports and strengthen energy ties with the U.S.

As one of the world’s largest oil importers, India could leverage increased U.S. production to diversify its supply, reduce costs, and enhance energy security. Experts suggest that a shift toward higher American oil exports could ease global supply constraints, offering India better pricing and long-term agreements.

While Trump’s policies may face domestic opposition due to climate concerns, India’s growing energy demands make it keen to explore any potential economic advantages in the evolving global oil market.
