Justin Timberlake ARRESTED: Singer Charged with Drunk Driving

Singer Justin Timberlake was arrested early Tuesday and charged with driving while intoxicated on New York’s Long Island, according to authorities. The arrest occurred in Sag Harbor, a coastal village in the Hamptons, which is about 100 miles (160 kilometers) from New York City and a popular summer destination for the wealthy.

Timberlake is expected to be arraigned in Sag Harbor, as stated by the Suffolk County district attorney’s office. Timberlake’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press.

Timberlake’s storied career began as a Disney Mouseketeer, where he performed alongside future girlfriend Britney Spears. He gained widespread fame as a member of the boy band NSYNC before launching a successful solo career in 2002. Timberlake has also earned acclaim as an actor in films such as “The Social Network” and “Friends With Benefits.” Over his career, he has won ten Grammy Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards.

Recently, Timberlake made headlines following the release of Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which includes personal details about their past relationship. In March, Timberlake released his first new album in six years, “Everything I Thought It Was,” marking a return to his signature future funk sound.

Timberlake is scheduled to perform two shows in Chicago on Friday and Saturday, followed by performances at New York’s Madison Square Garden next Tuesday and Wednesday.
