NEW DELHI: Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s heartfelt gesture was on full display as he presented his signed jersey to Chennai Super Kings’ star pacer, Mustafizur Rahman. Mustafizur took to social media to share the special moment, posting a photo with Dhoni and expressing his deep admiration for the legendary cricketer.
“Thanks for everything, Mahi bhai. It was an honor to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Your unwavering faith in me has meant a lot. I truly appreciate your invaluable tips, and I will cherish those moments,” Mustafizur wrote.
“Looking forward to the opportunity of meeting and playing with you again soon,” he added.
The departure of the left-arm pacer Mustafizur from the CSK camp for international duty has left a void in the team. Currently occupying the fifth position on the points tally, CSK has displayed a mixed performance in the season so far, with five wins and five losses out of ten matches.
CSK’s head coach, Stephen Fleming, expressed his disappointment over Mustafizur’s absence, acknowledging the challenge it poses to the team. However, he praised the commitment and performance of English pacer Richard Gleeson, particularly in the context of defending a low score.
“Richard Gleeson showcased his skill admirably, and his performance was a positive for us. Losing Mustafizur Rahman is indeed disappointing. Additionally, Tushar Deshpande is battling flu, necessitating a few changes in our lineup, which is unusual for us. Nonetheless, we have the resources to adapt,” Fleming remarked.
He also noted the challenge of integrating new players into the team and ensuring they are comfortable with their roles and the team’s game plan, given the limited game time available. Despite the hurdles, CSK remains determined to make the most of their resources and bounce back stronger.
