Operation Sindoor: Satellite Images Show Extensive Damage to Terror Camps in Pakistan, PoK

Operation Sindoor

NEW DELHI: Newly released satellite images on Thursday have revealed the extensive destruction inflicted by the Indian Army’s precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor.

The high-resolution images, released by Maxar Technologies, show significant structural damage at key locations, including the Jamia Mosque in Bahawalpur and several sites within Muridke, Pakistan. The analysis of pre- and post-strike visuals highlights the impact of India’s targeted operations.

Among the key targets was the sprawling 82-acre complex in Nangal Sahdan, Muridke, located in Sheikhupura district of Pakistan’s Punjab province. This facility served as the primary training centre for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), designated a terrorist organisation by India, the United Nations, and several Western nations.

Another major target was Markaz Subhan Allah, situated along National Highway-5 near Karachi Mor on the outskirts of Bahawalpur. Spanning 15 acres, it functioned as the principal indoctrination and training hub for Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)—also a UN-designated terrorist group.

The Indian Army struck nine terrorist installations in total, belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen, across both Pakistan and PoK. Of these, four were located inside Pakistan, while five were in PoK. All operations were launched from Indian soil, and notably, no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.

The tri-services operation, involving the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, was described by the Defence Ministry as “focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” underlining that the intent was to neutralise terrorist infrastructure while avoiding broader military escalation.

The strikes were in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including one Nepali national. In a press briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri underscored the gravity of the attack and Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism.

“This was the most serious terrorist incident since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, particularly because innocent civilians were deliberately targeted,” Misri said. “The Pahalgam attack clearly exposes Pakistan’s deep and ongoing links to terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba.”
