“Prithvi Shaw is His Own Worst Enemy”: MCA Criticizes Batter’s Reaction to Vijay Hazare Trophy Snub

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has sharply criticized cricketer Prithvi Shaw following his public outburst over being left out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. An MCA official described Shaw as “his own worst enemy,” citing disciplinary issues and inconsistent performances as reasons for his exclusion.

“Selection is based on merit and team requirements. Publicly airing grievances only reflects poorly on a player’s professionalism,” said an MCA representative.

Shaw, known for his prodigious talent, expressed disappointment over the decision on social media, sparking a debate among fans and cricket analysts. The MCA, however, remains firm, urging Shaw to focus on self-discipline and let his performance do the talking.

The young batter, who once showed promise as a future star, has faced multiple setbacks, including fitness concerns and off-field controversies. The recent episode adds another layer to his already tumultuous career.
