NEW DELHI: The IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was officially abandoned on Sunday due to a wet outfield at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Persistent rain throughout the day left the ground unfit for play, and after multiple inspections, the umpires had no choice but to call off the match without a single ball being bowled.
The no-result dealt a final blow to SRH’s already slim playoff hopes, officially knocking them out of the IPL 2025 playoff race. With just a few games left in the league stage, the abandoned fixture leaves SRH with no mathematical path to qualify.
Delhi Capitals, who were still in the hunt, will now rely on results of other matches and their net run rate to keep their postseason hopes alive.
