NEW DELHI: Srinagar stands as one of the significant parliamentary constituencies in Jammu & Kashmir, with political contests fiercely fought among prominent parties.
The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (JKPDP), and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC) are among the major political entities vying for victory in this region.
As per the Election Commission’s schedule, voting in Srinagar is slated for the fourth phase on May 13, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.
Key contenders in the constituency include Waheed Ur Rehman Para from the People’s Democratic Party and Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi from the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, a party synonymous with the Abdullah family’s political legacy spanning three generations.
Notably, both the Congress and BJP have opted not to field candidates for this particular constituency in the upcoming election.
