Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accusing him of being “careless towards education” following the latter’s remarks on the Urdu language.
Yadav took a swipe at Yogi, stating that a leader who does not respect linguistic diversity cannot truly support education. “A CM who dismisses a language spoken by millions is indifferent to education itself,” Yadav remarked.
The exchange comes amid an ongoing debate over the role of Urdu in Uttar Pradesh, with opposition leaders accusing the ruling BJP of sidelining the language for political reasons.
