The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has postponed the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) preliminary exams following calls from aspirants, as reported by PTI. Additionally, UPPSC announced that it will conduct the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary examination in the traditional format, opting against implementing any new changes this cycle.
In response to concerns raised by students, UPPSC has formed a special committee to review the RO and ARO exams, as reported by ANI. Protests erupted outside the UPPSC office, with aspirants urging the Commission to hold the exams in a single shift, emphasizing the importance of fairness and consistency.
Initially, the PCS prelims were scheduled for December 7-8, with the RO and ARO exams planned for December 22-23. However, the student demonstrations have prompted UPPSC to reconsider the dates and exam format. The newly established committee will conduct a detailed review of the RO and ARO Prelims Examination 2023 and is expected to release a report soon, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
To address students’ concerns directly, UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar will meet with the protesters, aiming to find a balanced solution that respects both the needs of the aspirants and the standards of the institution.
