‘Why Should Batters Have All the Fun?’: Ravi Bishnoi Reacts After India’s Win Over England

India Win

NEW DELHI: Following India’s nail-biting two-wicket win over England in Chennai, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi shared his excitement with a playful remark: “Why should batters have all the fun?”

The match saw Tilak Varma anchor India’s chase with a brilliant unbeaten half-century, rescuing the team after a top-order collapse. His composed knock of 72 off 55 balls, featuring four boundaries and five sixes, proved instrumental in securing India a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.

Bishnoi, who contributed with a crucial 9 off 5 balls, including two vital boundaries under pressure, expressed his delight at being able to support the team’s cause beyond his primary role with the ball.

“My job was to rotate the strike and avoid unnecessary risks. Today, I posted a reel on Instagram saying, ‘Why should batters have all the fun?’ When the slip came in, I realized they were trying to get me out with leg-spin, so I aimed over covers and luckily got a four,” Bishnoi revealed during the post-match interaction.

He also heaped praise on Tilak’s match-winning innings, highlighting the youngster’s consistency across formats. “It was one of the best innings in T20s. The pitch wasn’t easy, and their bowling attack was packed with big names. Tilak has been in great form over the last few months—scoring centuries in South Africa and excelling in domestic cricket. We knew something special was on the way, and he’s proving himself now,” Bishnoi said.

Bishnoi’s lighthearted comment and his gritty cameo reflected the growing camaraderie and fighting spirit within Team India, which continues to shine through in high-pressure situations.
